The Independent Insurance Agents of Oklahoma Challenge Cup Golf Series was designed to offer a competitive atmosphere for golfers in the Oklahoma insurance industry.
What originally began as four outings in 1993 has since expanded to six outings per year.
Prizes are offered at each event for both "scramble" and "real" golf giving each entry a choice as to the level of competition in which he or she wants to participate.
"Real" golf competition is on a handicap basis and the handicaps for the two hundred plus golfers on the associations mailing list are monitored frequently to insure a level playing field.
Individual winners are recognized at each outing and a yearly playoff involving the winners of the separate outings and a small group of non-winners, selected by a point system designed around participation and scoring is held each year to determine the winner of the coveted green pyramid trophy which honors the IIAO Challenge Cup Golfer Of The Year.
